A prediction of the Prophet has been recorded in these words:

To every home, big or small, God will bring the message of Islam.

This hadith is a prediction about later times. This does not mean that this happening will take place mysteriously, or that the word of God will enter all homes on its own. Rather this event will take place entirely according to the law of cause and effect. This hadith shows that in the later phase of human history such opportunities will be available by which it will become possible for the preachers of God to convey God’s message in every home, big or small.

This, in actual fact, refers to the materialization of the universal Islamic target of preaching God’s word. This event will take place before Doomsday, so that all the people living on earth may be informed of God’s creation plan.

The printing press in the modern age has made it possible to turn this potential into a reality. By the grace of God our Islamic Centre has published a translation of the Quran in English which comes up to the most modern standards. This translation is marked by its total clarity.

As Muslims we are duty-bound to disseminate this translation of the Quran all over the world, to every man and woman. This is the greatest form of missionary work in the present times.

Perhaps this is the work which has been referred to in the hadith as the greatest “dawah” work in the eyes of God.

The companions of the Prophet lived long before the age of the printing press. They used to recite passages from the Quran to people. These companions where called ‘Muqris’, — reciters. Now in the age of the printing press, we have to distribute the printed Quran far and wide. If the companions became Muqris of the Quran, now the need is for every Muslim to become the distributor of the Divine Book.
