Maulana Wahiduddin Khan was recently presented the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 18th Annual Interfaith Unity Banquet organized by the 52nd Convention of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) in Chicago, Illinois. The award, given on September 6, 2015, recognized Maulana’s decades-long work in presenting Islam according to the modern contemporary idiom and developing an ideology of peace based on Islam. The program was attended by David N. Saperstein, the US Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom and Imam Mohamed Magid, the Executive Director of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) and other important dignitaries and Muslim Leaders. At the event, Dr. Sayyid Syeed, the National Director of ISNA’s Office of Interfaith and Community Alliances, urged the audience to read and discuss Maulana’s most recent book, The Age of Peace, which was launched at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) on August 27, 2015
